Cover Class specialists in the manufacture of boat covers Information, Care & Maintenance

Thank you for the purchase of your tailor-made boat cover. As a stitched product, it is quite likely that your cover will leak during the first few days. This is nothing to worry about as the stitching needs to ‘season’. This means that the cotton will swell and plug any holes thus stopping the leaks. If however, in the unlikely event of the leak continuing, they can be treated with either seam sealer or clear dubbin – available from camping stores. Please note, this should only be applied when the cover is dry.

On acrylic canvas covers, seam sealant / dubbin should only be applied to the inside of the seam in order to prevent discolouration to the outer surface of the material.

P.V.C.

Clean PVC regularly with a solution of lukewarm soapy water (detergent-free). Stitching should be treated bi-annually with a clear dubbin. Windows should only be cleaned with a soft clean cloth to prevent any surface scratching.

Acrylic Canvas

Clean PVC regularly with a solution of lukewarm soapy water (detergent-free). Stitching should be treated bi-annually with Fabisil. Windows should only be cleaned with a soft clean cloth to prevent any surface scratching. Fabisil should not be applied to the windows.
